Admission Process

STEP 1

Explore UCC

We invite families to learn more about UCC by registering for one of our Fall Open House events on October 27 or 28, submitting an inquiry form or attending an event.

STEP 2

Complete Your Application

Create or log into your UCC account. (Only the candidate’s parents/guardians can legally create an account and submit an application. Those wishing to submit an application on behalf of a family should contact the Office of Admission at admission@ucc.on.ca.)

Click the application form button. You can save your progress at any time and return to complete your profile later. Before submitting, please check that all fields are complete as you won’t be able to edit the information once it’s been submitted.

Once your application form has been processed, you can log back in to submit supporting documents and the teacher reference form, available in your admission checklist.

* We accept applications until December 1, however the application fee is $200 until November 1 and $300 until December 1.

STEP 3

Sign Up for an In-Person Assessment

We ask that all applicants complete an academic assessment, focusing on reading, writing and math skills, along with a fun group activity.

The academic assessment takes approximately 20 minutes. No advance preparation is required; however, here are three tips to help your child feel comfortable and confident.

  • Practice the format: If your child isn't used to formal testing, do a quick 15-minute activity at home using a timer so the setting feels familiar.
  • Build focus: Have your child complete a brief worksheet or reading activity with light household background noise to help them practice tuning out distractions.
  • Ask for help: Remind your child to take their time and ask the teacher if they don’t understand a question.

The assessment will have questions with the following format:

  • 8 - ____ = 5
  • The energetic puppy chased its tail around the yard until it was completely _____________.
    A) exhausted
    B) invisible
    C) frozen

These assessments take place on campus on select dates in November and December — we encourage families who reside outside of Ontario to contact the Office of Admission before booking travel arrangements.

2026 Assessment Dates and Times

Thursday, November 26 at 12:30 p.m.
Thursday, December 3 at 9 a.m.
Friday, December 4 at 12:30 p.m.

STEP 4

Participate in an In-Person Interview Session

Upon receipt and review of all required documents, selected candidates will be contacted to arrange an interview, which includes a student interview and a parent/guardian interview.

This conversation allows us to learn more about a prospective student’s areas of strength, needs, potential for success and alignment with UCC’s values. It also provides parents and guardians with a deeper understanding of UCC and the experiences that we offer.

We encourage families who reside outside of Ontario to contact the Office of Admission before booking travel arrangements. If the parent or guardian requires language or translation support, please advise the Office of Admission during interview scheduling.

Final admission decisions will be shared on February 26, 2027.
